Finally ... I started it.. :)

Hi Friends...

I'm sure you  must be surprised to see the topic of this post... surprised as I am..
finally.. after much coaxing .. I finally decided to make a scrapbook album for myself :)
Actually.. I had been wanting to do this from a long long time.. Since April .. but I coudnt bring the right kind of thoughts I wanted in my Album.. but now I have...

I have always loved Vector shapes for anything and drawing them used to be biggest hobby in my College.. you might want to check my notebooks.. not a page corner without a drawing there was... Somehow When I came across the Lulupu's challenge for this month for making a layout.. I had to get started and finally I decided on making something handmade in my album..
So here's what I made with a Gel pen and then colored it off. Coloring is something I had not tried before in these kinds of drawings, but then I didn't wanted the usual black color to dominate like I had always kept my earlier drawings :)

This is the scrapbook page I created.
My Fav month for 2012 was the starting month of the Year.. January... for I got married on 15th Jan.. to someone who is soo special and is my life.... :)

Hence I wanted my album to be very special one too :)

Here's a closeup of the Paisley design that I have made :) It's done first with a Black Gel pen and then more black was added around to make the design thicker. After that the colors were filled in.

Here's a complete view of the page that I made :)

Hope you all liked it... linking it to the Lulupu's challenge.

    1. Hey Gowri :)

yeah, Paisley (also called Mango pattern) is pretty common, it's been in Indian tradition for long.. fabrics, mehendi designs.... :)
Thanks for admiring.. well, I drew this kind of drawing almost after 6-7 years... it took me about 2 hours to make it off... I'm gonna practice more of this.. maybe the next time the time will be 1 hour..

      Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Crafty People..

I'm certainly hooked on to making Explosion Boxes.. they are sooper dooper fun to make and there is such a lot of craziness in making them, a part of this craziness comes from the fact that, it's fun to watch the recipients reactions (of course, if you personally give it to them).. they are always amazing :)

This time around, I experimented by Making a carousel explosion box since I wanted to make one of each shape and size.

Gond painting

I have been eyeing the gond art from a very long time now, the only thing pulling me down from trying this amazing art form was time and now that I have ample of it, I loved making this beauty.

I have tried my hand at making madhubani painting earlier and a preview of the madhubani inspired magnets can be viewed here.

Gond paintings are native to gond tribal community which hails mainly from the areas in central India. India has such rich and amazing forms of art that it's truly wonderful to see and try some of them.

Gond paintings are amazing to look at, truly intricate yet very very simple. The designs are basically evolved from everyday life yet the intricate dots, dashes and lines which fill up these everyday life inspired art form are amazing to fill up.
